SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's basketball team (9-12, 4-5 Sun Belt) looks to snap a three-game skid on the backend of a three-game road trip in conference play. Game one of the weekend will feature the Bobcats and the Appalachian State Mountaineers (11-9, 5-4 Sun Belt). The kid's game will tip at 11 a.m. CT on Feb. 7 from the Holmes Convocation Center. The final game of the road swing is set to start at 1 p.m. CT on Feb. 9 at the HTC Center against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (11-9, 3-6 Sun Belt).
The Bobcats enter the weekend off a difficult loss to in-state rival UT Arlington. The Cats fell behind early after a sloppy first quarter and were unable to recover. TXST won the final three quarters of the game, 47-44, but were outscored 24-6 in the opening 10 minutes of the contest.

ABOUT TEXAS STATE
Since being inserted into the starting lineup before the Georgia Southern game on Jan. 26, freshman guard
Kennedy Taylor is averaging 15.0 points and 3.5 assists per game. She has posted back-to-back games of double-figure scoring, including a season-best outing of 19 points against the Eagles. During league play, Taylor is posting 7.2 points and 3.2 assists per game and shooting 49.1 percent from the floor.
Senior guard
Toshua Leavitt holds the second spot among scoring leaders in the Sun Belt with an average of 16.7 points a night. Leavitt has hit more 3-point field goals (74) than any other player in the conference. She is tied for the conference lead with seven 20-point games and two 30-point games this season.

Zenarae Antoine is fourth in program history in career victories. She trails Suzanne Fox (174), Judy Rinker (145) and Linda Sharp (138) on the all-time list.
SCOUTING APPALACHIAN STATE
The Mountaineers have split each weekend of conference play this season and ae coming off a two-game split against the Louisiana schools. App started the weekend with a 73-55 loss against the Cajuns before rebounding to win 80-58 over ULM on Feb. 2.
Earlier in the season, Appalachian State stole a home game from the Bobcats in a 62-49 Mountaineer victory. App outrebounded the Bobcats 46-35 in the game, including a 16-10 edge on the offensive glass. The Mountaineers turned the offensive rebounds into 17 second-chance points. For the season, the Mountaineers average 43.0 rebounds per game, 5.0 more than their opponent. Junior center Bayley Plummer leads the league with 11.5 rebounds per contest.
The Appalachian State offense is led by senior guard Madi Story. She averages a team-best 12.8 points per game and is No. 15 in the conference in scoring. Her scoring numbers jump to 14.3 points per game in conference play.
SCOUTING COASTAL CAROLINA
After dropping the first six Sun belt games of the season, the Chanticleers have turned the corner and won three-straight league games. The victories have come over Arkansas State (88-72), ULM (79-54) and Louisiana (76-58).
Texas State had the upper-hand in the first matchup of the season between the two teams, winning by a score of 73-58 on Jan. 10 at Strahan Arena. The Bobcats are one of four teams in the conference to hold the Chanticleer offense below 60 points this season. CCU is averaging 81.0 points per contest during the three-game winning streak.
Junior guard DJ Williams leads the Chants and is third in the league in scoring, averaging 16.7 points per outing despite averaging just 23 minutes per game for Coastal this season. Williams also adds 6.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game, both figures rank inside the top-10 in the conference ranks. Junior guard Caitlin Roche chips in 14.8 points per game, giving the Chanticleers the highest scoring duo in the Sun Belt.
UP NEXT FOR THE BOBCATS
Texas State will face a tough two-game homestand with games against Arkansas State and Little Rock. The Valentine's Day date with the Red Wolves is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip, while the Trojans come to town for a 2 p.m. tilt on Feb. 16. The TXST-LR game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
