SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's basketball team (4-2) wraps up its three-game homestand at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4 as it plays host to I-35 rival UTSA (3-4). The Bobcats look to remain undefeated at home and are 4-0 in San Marcos for the first time since 2015-16.

- TXST ranks ninth nationally in scoring defense (50.7), 16th in turnovers forced per game (23.2) and 19th in turnover margin (7.3). The Bobcats also lead the Sun Belt Conference in field goal percentage defense (34.1), three-point field goal percentage defense (26.7) and scoring margin (10.7). Conversely, the Bobcat offense has the fewest turnovers per game in the SBC (15.8).
- Texas State is joined by Georgia Tech (41.3), Arizona (45.6), Kentucky (47.4), Rutgers (47.9), Baylor (49.1), Penn (49.6), Saint Louis (50.1), Florida State (50.4), and Washington (50.7) in the top-10 scoring defenses in the country.
- The Bobcats are 4-0 at home for the first time since the 2015-16 season when they opened 7-0 in San Marcos. Texas State won four home games in November for the first time since 2005-06.
- Texas State has held four non-conference opponents under 50 points for the first time since it held five under the mark in 2006-07.
- Head coach Zenarae Antoine is in her ninth season and has amassed 129 wins. She is the fourth head coach in program history to reach the benchmark and is nine wins from tying Linda Sharp (1989-97) for the third most victories in school history.
- Sophomore guard Kennedy Taylor's 5.2 assists per game is first in the Sun Belt Conference. The Dallas, Texas native posted a season-best eight dimes in her last game against Texas A&M - Corpus Christi. The point guard also ranks second in the SBC with a 1.82 assist turnover ratio.
- Senior guard Brooke Holle is the team's career leader in points (760), rebounds (423) and steals (104). The Austin, Texas native is 11 three-point field goals away from entering the top-10 in program history. Earlier this season she connected on a career-best six treys against UTPB. She also leads the team in rebounds (6.2) and is second in points (8.8) per game.
- Junior forward Lillie Moore provided a spark off the bench in the last two games. The JUCO transfer scored eight points in back-to-back games against New Orleans and Texas A&M - Corpus Christi and pulled down seven boards against the Privateers. She scored eight points in just 18 minutes against the Islanders.

Texas State turned defense into offense and outscored Texas A&M – Corpus Christi 19-5 in points off turnovers to down the Islanders 55-48 inside Strahan Arena on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore forward
Da'Nasia Hood posted a season-high 19 points to lead the Bobcats (4-2) in scoring. Texas State snapped the Islanders' (4-3) three-game winning streak and moved to 4-0 at home.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi shot 46% (20-for-44), 25% from three (2-for-8) and 50% (6-for-12) from the foul line. The Islanders turned the ball over 25 times and were led by Alexes Bryant's 15 points and 10 rebounds. Texas State shot 43% (23-for-54) from the field, 25% (4-for-16) from three and 78% (7-for-9) from the free throw stripe. TXST is now 15-6 all-time against Texas A&M – Corpus Christi and have won eight of the last nine.
Scouting UTSA
The Roadrunners are concluding a four-game road swing and will look to win their first game of the trip. UTSA fell at UTRGV 75-64 and dropped a pair in the Bank of Hawaii Classic, versus Utah (91-45) and the host Rainbow Warriors (62-50) the weekend prior. Freshman forward Adryana Quezada leads the team averaging 12.0 points per game while senior forward Timea Toth leads the team pulling down 6.9 rebounds.
Series History
The Bobcats have a slight 34-33 lead in the all-time series against the Roadrunners and have won four of the last five against UTSA. In the four wins, Texas State possesses an average margin of victory of 18.3 points. TXST is 68-68 against the current alignment of Conference USA and won three of the last four vs. C-USA teams.
