SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Texas State baseball team lost 7-2 to UTSA in a midweek contest Tuesday night at Roadrunner Field.

The Bobcats (13-5-1) had their 11-game unbeaten streak snapped, while the Roadrunners improved to 8-10 on the year.

The home side plated a trio of runs in the top of the first and never looked back. UTSA added a solo marker in the second, two more in the fifth and a final tally in the eighth to complete the scoring. TXST could only answer with a pair of solo runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

Brandon Lewis (0-2) spun the first 2.0 frames and suffered the loss after conceding four runs (three earned) on four hits. He also struck out one and walked three. Junior

Bryan Arias, Trent Bowles and Joshua Lamb all finished with two hits to pace the home side. Bowles and Lamb each scored twice.

Chance Kirby (1-2) earned the win on the mound for UTSA. He tossed the first 2.0 innings and struck out one, not conceding a hit or a run.

Texas State has a quick turnaround and will play host to Incarnate Word at 6 p.m. March 21 at Bobcat Ballpark.
