TEXAS STATE COACH TY HARRINGTON
Opening Statement…
"I thought we got outplayed. I thought (Sam Houston State) competed harder than we did. They certainly executed better than we did. They did a much better job of playing the game of baseball tonight then we did. The score reflects that. They have a very good baseball team. I don't want to take anything away from what they've done. (SHSU coach) Matt (Deggs) has done a really good job with that program. If you're not prepared, then they will take advantage of you. I think they did that tonight."
Â
On falling behind 2-0 in the first inning…
"We've been there before. We certainly have to get better with our command out there. It's a fine line. A walk is the same thing as a base hit. When you get a team that can run like they can, you're asking them to be able to execute what they do offensively. Obviously they were able to do that tonight."
