Young, who has three round-trippers on five hits this season, was 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Bobcats (5-2) offense. Young accounted for five of the TXST's RBI with Jaclyn Molenaar knocking in the other with a 1-for-2 day at the dish.

Randi Rupp (3-1) earned the win in the circle in her 6.0 innings of work. The junior struck out eight and gave up one run on four hits. Quincy Charleston finished the game with an inning in relief.

Hawai'i (3-3) totaled four hits with Nicole Lopez tallying the Warriors' lone RBI. K. Aina Cabrales (1-1) suffered the loss as she gave allowed three earned runs in her 4.0 innings of work. Dana Thomsen three runs on two hits in 2.0 innings of work out of the pen.

Young put the Bobcats on the board in the bottom of the second with her two-run blast to left, which scored Bailee Carter who drew a walk to lead off the inning.

Hawai'i got one run back in the top of the third as Lopez sent a solo shot out to right-center field.

In the fourth, Molenaar pushed the Bobcats up 3-1 with an RBI single down the left-field line, scoring Carter. Young made it 6-1 in favor of the Bobcats in the fifth with her three-run blast. Ariel Ortiz drew a one-out walk and Corrina Liscano singled through the right side to put two runners on base. After Carter fouled out to third base, Young sent Thomsen's 3-2 offering over the wall in left-center field.

Rupp and Charleston would not allow a runner past first over the final two frames as the Bobcats won their fifth game of the season.
