SAN MARCOS, Texas – The second weekend of the season sees the Texas State women's soccer team make a trip to McNeese State before returning home to host Houston. Friday's game in Lake Charles, Louisiana kicks off at 7 p.m. at Cowgirl Field. On Sunday, the Bobcats host the Cougars at the Bobcat Soccer Complex at 1 p.m.

Texas State enters the weekend at 2-0 for only the second time in program history. McNeese State is 1-0 after defeating Louisiana Tech on the road 2-1 Wednesday night. Houston is also 1-0 this season and will play at Incarnate Word Friday night before facing the Bobcats.

Last Time Out
The first weekend of the season saw Texas State post back-to-back 2-0 victories against Lamar and Prairie View A&M. It was the first time in program history that the team shutout the first two opponents of the year.

Rachel Grout, Kassi Hormuth, Clarissa Leon and Lauren Prater all found the back of the net once. Grout, Hormuth and Prater were all credited with an assist and are tied for the team lead with three points. Also ending last week with an assist were Jordan Kondikoff, Alyssa Phelan and Kira Zapalac.

Freshmen goalkeepers Kathryn Budde and Heather Martin split time between the posts in both games with Martin starting both contests while Martin came on at the beginning of the second half. They enter this weekend with an identical line of 0.00 GAA, two saves and one victory.

Scouting McNeeese State
McNeese State is led in scoring by Bettina Brulhart and Nola Prickett with one goal apiece. Kayla Goedicke has the team's lone assist on the year. Pacing the squad with three shots and two shots on goal is Savannah LaRicci.

In goal, Annie Bravenec made just one stop in Wednesday's season opener to pick up the victory.

Texas State leads the all-time series 17-8-1 but have lost the last three meetings. Last season's meeting in San Marcos saw the Cowgirls leave town with a 1-0 victory. The Bobcats' last win over McNeese State was on Oct. 21, 2011 at home by the score of 2-1.

When playing in Lake Charles, Texas State is 5-3-1 all-time. The last win on the road ended 1-0 in overtime on Oct. 17, 2010.

Scouting Houston
Junior midfielder Hannah Dauzat has scored all three of Houston's goals this season entering the weekend. Her hat trick in the team's season opener against Texas Southern earned her recognition on the American Athletic Conference's Weekly Honor Roll. Setting her up on two of her goals was Selena Peters and Margo McEntire added an assist as well.

Rachel Estopare needed to make only one save to preserve the shutout in the first game of the year.

The Cougars enter Sunday with a 7-2 edge over the Bobcats all-time. Houston won the first five meetings but the teams have split the last four. Texas State won last year's meeting 2-0 behind a goals from Prater and former Bobcat Lynsey Curry.
