Last Time Out For the Bobcats
• Early shooting woes coupled with UTSA shooting north of 50 percent for three quarters proved too much for Texas State to overcome as the Bobcats fell 72-47 to the Roadrunners in the 2016 edition of the I-35 rivalry.
• UTSA was led by Loryn Goodwin's 20 points, while Kasia Kiejdrowska also registered double-figures in the scoring column with 12. The Roadrunners shot 48.9 percent (23 of 47) for the game, including 50 percent or better in each of the first three quarters.
Taeler Deer paced Texas State with 12 points and seven rebounds. The Bobcats closed the game making 27.7 percent (18 of 65) from the field. The Bobcats did force 27 UTSA turnovers and outscored the Roadrunners 32-23 off the bench.

Quick Hands
• Texas State forced a season-best 27 turnovers at UTSA (Dec. 1). The Bobcats, which average 19.33 forced turnovers per game, where led in the contest by Taeler Deer's career-best five steals.

Getting Defensive
• Texas State ranks as the second-best defensive team in the Sun Belt Conference through games played Dec. 4. The Bobcats are holding their opponents to a 59.7 points per game, ranking behind only Little Rock's 52.6 for tops in the league.
• The Bobcat defense has been particularly good in the first and second quarter as they are limiting opponents to only 13.5 and 12.8 points, respectively, in the opening two stanzas.

50 Percent Post Shooting
• Post players Ti'Aira Pitts and Amber Jones are each making the most of their touches in the paint. Both are shooting better than 50.0 percent from the floor with Pitts making 15 of her 28 attempts (53.6 percent) and Jones 13 of her 23 (56.5 percent).

Bobcats In The Sun Belt Rankings
• Texas State ranks in the top half of the Sun Belt Conference in eight of the league's 21 key statistical categories. The Bobcats' top two statistical categories are scoring defense (59.7 ppg) and turnover margin (+3.5) as both rank second in the league.
