SAN MARCOS, Texas – Former Texas State men's basketball players
Emani Gant and
Cameron Naylor are continuing their basketball careers overseas this season. The duo became the 30th and 31st players, respectively, that have played for head coach
Danny Kaspar to be offered international professional contracts.
Gant, a two-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection, signed in early September to play for Marso Nyiregyhazi KK in Hungary. The team is competing this season in the B Division of the Hungarian Basketball Federation.
In his first game with the team, Gant recorded a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds and added an assist, block and steal in the team's 73-68 victory. The Los Angeles native helped Marso NYKK knockoff the league's undefeated team with a 23-point, 10-rebound and 6-steal performance in 30 minutes of action.
Naylor signed earlier this month with UBSC Raiffeisen Graz in Austria. In three A-Bundesliga games as the team's starting small forward, the Jacksonville, Florida native is scoring 12.3 points per game and make 46.7 percent of his shots. He is also leading the league with 10.7 rebounds per game.
Along with producing professional players, Kaspar has seen 89 percent players he has coached that completed their eligibility graduate.
