Texas State vs. Louisiana Preview

The Texas State football team will be seeking its first Sun Belt Conference victory this season when the Bobcats play their first Sun Belt home game against Louisiana Saturday night at Bobcat Stadium. The game kicks off at 6:06 p.m.

Texas State will be playing its annual Homecoming Game against the Ragin' Cajuns and look to improve its overall record to 3-4 and Sun Belt mark to 1-2 after dropping their first two conference games at Georgia State and at ULM.

Meanwhile, Louisiana enters the game with a 2-4 record and the Ragin' Cajuns are 1-2 against Sun Belt Conference teams after falling 24-0 against Appalachian State on Oct. 12. The Cajuns opened their Sun Belt schedule with a 28-23 victory against South Alabama and also fell at New Mexico State 37-31 in double overtime.

This is the fourth meeting between the two schools in a series that began in 2013 when the Bobcats joined the Sun Belt Conference.  The two teams first met in Lafayette with the Ragin Cajuns claiming a 48-24 victory, but the win was vacated due to NCAA sanctions. Louisiana also won 34-10 in San Marcos in 2014 before posting a 49-27 victory in Lafayette last year.
