TROY, Ala. – The Texas State soccer team suffered its second-straight loss of the 2015 conference season Friday evening to the Troy Trojans by a score of 4-1. The Bobcats fall to 8-4 overall and 2-2 in Sun Belt Conference play.
Kassi Hormuth scored the lone goal for Texas State in the 81
st minute of the contest. Hormuth took advantage of a defensive miscue for the Trojans to score her third goal of the season.
The Trojans took the early 3-0 lead in the first half and added a fourth goal early on in the second over the Bobcats. Texas State tried to retaliate in the latter half of the second as five of the final six shots belonged to the Bobcats.
Lynsey Curry led all Bobcats with five shots including three on goal. Texas State finished the match with 11 while allowing 15 by the Trojans.
Texas State will continue on the road Sunday afternoon with a contest against South Alabama. Kick-off against the Jaguars is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Mobile, Ala. For more information on the Texas State soccer team, go online to
