LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – UALR scored a goal against its own team just moments after junior Lynsey Curry tied the contest to give the Texas State soccer team a 2-1 victory on Sunday afternoon. The win gives the Bobcats a 7-3-1 overall record and a 2-0-0 in conference mark, while the Trojans drop their second-straight match in conference play after beginning the season with a 9-0-0 record.


 
Curry's goal in the 79^th minute was unassisted as she scored on a free kick just yards outside of the 18-yard box. Her shot spun away from the goalie into the left corner of the net.

Within a minute and a half of action, Curry fired off a pair of shots to get the Bobcats rolling against the UALR Trojans. Both of those shots, however, were unable to find their way into the net and ultimately told the first half tale for Texas State.
 
The Bobcats rattled off nine shots before intermission, but couldn't connect on any of them. The nine shots also came before UALR attempted any shots.
 
UALR's first shot of the day was an impactful one as in the 34th minute of the contest the Trojans went up by a score of 1-0 on the visiting Bobcats. Louise Kallin scored her sixth goal of the season to give the home team the lead with a shot on the left side of the net.
 
Of Texas State's nine shots in the first half, four of those were on goal. One of Curry's shots in the first ricocheted off the right post.
 
The Bobcats finished with 17 total shots while allowing five by the Trojans. Curry led all players on the field with seven total shots.
 
The Bobcats will now return for a five-game home stand starting next Sunday against Sun Belt Conference newcomer Appalachian State. Kick-off on October 5 is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.
