Turnovers plagued the Bobcats in the first half as the team committed 11 in the first half and shot just 7-of-28 from the field. Arkansas State took a 24-17 lead into the locker room.
The second half was much of the same as the Bobcats were unable to gain much traction on Arkansas State's lead. The Red Wolves got the lead to as big as 14 midway through the second half, before Texas State started a rally.
Down 54-45 with 1:10 to go, the Bobcats missed two threes which would have closed the gap to six. Unfortunately Arkansas State got the rebound on the second and made free throws down the stretch to seal the game.
Arkansas State's Carlisha Wyatt led the charge, as she scored 14 points and had 11 rebounds. Most importantly from a Bobcat perspective was the job she did on Ashley Ezeh.
