TROY, Ala. – The Texas State men's basketball team will begin the 2014-15 Sun Belt Conference season in the same arena it ended the 2013-14 campaign, at Trojan Arena in Troy, Ala. Last season the Bobcats fell in a win and in scenario for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, 72-50.

Five players that played in last year's game will be suited up on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m., when the two teams tip off conference play. Emani Gant and Wes Davis are two players who started in that game and are leading the Bobcats with 14.3 and 8.6 points per game respectively. Davis is coming off a season-high 17-point performance against Huston-Tillotson in the final non-conference game of the season.

In that game against the Rams, five Bobcats scored in double figures for the first time since March 2013, as Texas State won 90-56. It was a season high for Texas State and the highest since Danny Kaspar took over at Texas State.

Scouting Troy

Troy enters Tuesday night's game 5-4 overall. The Trojans are led by Kevin Thomas, a 6-8 forward, who leads the country in field goal percentage at .682 percent (45-of-66). He is averaging 11.8 points per game. Thomas scored 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting in the season finale last season.
