ESPN3 To Carry Texas State-Georgia Southern Game

SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – The Sun Belt Conference announced Monday that Texas State's football game against Georgia Southern on Nov. 8 will be televised by ESPN3 and kick off at 3 p.m.  
 
It marks the fifth time this year and third straight game that the Bobcats be televised by ESPN3. The Bobcats played their last road games at UL Monroe on ESPN3. Texas State will also play this Saturday's game at New Mexico State on ESPN3. In addition, Texas State's game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Idaho were televised on ESPN3.
 
The Bobcats enter the New Mexico State game with a 4-3 overall record and are 2-1 in Sun Belt Conference game after coming back to win their first Sun Belt Conference road game in school history, 22-18 at UL Monroe.
 
Georgia Southern enters this week's game against Troy with a 5-2 overall record and a 4-0 mark against Sun Belt Conference teams. The November 8 matchup will be the first time the two schools have met since Texas State won a 50-35 decision in the first round of the 2005 FCS Playoffs at Bobcat Stadium.
 
Texas State has had every game televised this season. The Bobcats made their first appearance on ESPN2 since 2005 when they played UL Lafayette on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Bobcat Stadium.
 
Texas State will play its second midweek game this season on Thursday, Nov. 20, when they host Arkansas State at Bobcat Stadium on ESPNU beginning at 8:30 p.m.
 
Texas State also had three games shown on ESPNews this season. Those three games were against Navy, Illinois and Tulsa. The Bobcats opened the season on ESPN3 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
