ATLANTA – The Texas State soccer team concluded the 2014 regular season with a loss at Georgia State by a score of 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Bobcats fall to 10-6-2 overall and 5-3-1 in conference play.

Texas State will now await the final seeding for the upcoming conference tournament scheduled for November 5.

After starting off the game with a pair of shots by
Lynsey Curry, the Bobcats were forced to play on the defensive throughout the remainder of the first half. A key defensive stop for the Bobcats was in the 15
th minute of action when Georgia State had a free kick just yards outside of the box. The Bobcat wall of four-deep blocked Lauren Harriman's shot and ultimately the scoring opportunity dissolved for Georgia State.

Georgia State did record three corner shots in the first half compared to zero by the Bobcats. Shots, however, remained even at four a piece at intermission.

The Panthers continued to put pressure on the Bobcats to start the second half as at one point there were back-to-back-to-back corner kicks by Georgia State. Prior to those corner kicks, sophomore midfielder
Ali Jones notched a huge save at the right post.

In the 57
th minute, Georgia State capitalized on its offensive pressure, scoring the first and only goal of the contest.

Caitlynn Rinehart came up with a big save in the 76
th minute to keep the score a 1-0. The Georgia State player broke away from the defense and shot the ball just yards in front of Rinehart in front of the net.

Texas State began to apply pressure nearing the end of the contest as
Clarissa Leon and
Lauren Prater put together passes that set Prater up in front of the net. Prater's shot was fired right in line with Georgia State's goalkeeper.

Texas State will now begin preparations for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament that is scheduled for Nov. 5-9 in Mobile, Ala. Continue to follow
