STATESBORO, Ga. – The Texas State soccer team earned another point to its conference total on Friday evening as it finished in a 1-1 draw against Georgia Southern. The Bobcats remain in second place of the Sun Belt Conference as they move to 10-5-2 overall and 5-2-1 in SBC play.

After going down 1-0 in the 15
th minute,
Lynsey Curry tied up the score just 10 seconds prior to the end of the first period. Curry fired her shot through a small window on the left side to the back right corner of the net. It was her sixth goal of the season and she is now just one goal shy of cracking the top-five all-time goal list at Texas State. Her goal was unassisted.

Each team recorded six shots in the first half.

The second half of action was a true back-and-forth battle as neither team took sole possession of the match. Georgia Southern outshot the Bobcats 6-3, but of the three shots for Texas State, two of those were on goal.

In both overtimes, the Bobcats dominated the shots category as they fired off all six shots that were allowed. Curry and
Tori Hale each had several shots in overtime, but those were ultimately saved by Georgia Southern goalkeeper Katie Merson.

Texas State finished the game with 15 shots compared to 12 by the Eagles.
Lynsey Curry led the Bobcats with seven shots.
