SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team fought valiantly on Friday evening, but two goals in the second half by UL Monroe proved to be too much for the Bobcats. Texas State fell by a score of 2-1 as they fall to 9-5-1 overall and 4-2-0 in conference play.

The first half of play was rather silent as all three goals scored in the game were netted in the second half. Texas State finished the first half with 11 shots compared to five by the Warhawks.

In the 54
th minute of action, the Warhawks put the first notch on the scoreboard with a shot to the left corner. Kelley O'Dwyer's fourth goal of the season was off of a deflection of a Bobcat defender just outside of the goal.

Not eight minutes later, the Bobcats tied up the contest as
Landry Lowe fired a shot outside the box to the left corner of the net. Lowe received her pass from
Tori Hale who has now recorded 18 career assists, putting her at the top of the Bobcat all-time leaderboard in that category. Lowe now has two goals on the season.

UL Monroe took the final lead in the 69
th minute with a shot outside of the box from Karlea Fehr.

Texas State finished the game with 26 shots compared to 10 by the Warhawks. Of Texas State's 26 shots, 13 of those were on goal. The Bobcats also finished with seven corner kicks compared to six by UL Monroe.
