SAN MARCOS, Texas – It was a true defensive battle until the ninth minute of the first overtime when South Alabama scored a goal to lift the Jaguars over the Texas State soccer team by a score of 1-0. It was the second overtime contest in a row for the Bobcats as they defeated Appalachian State last Sunday.

Neither team took all of the momentum in the first half as the teams were provided with opportunities to score. South Alabama led the match with 11 shots in the first half, but of those only two shots were on goal. Of Texas State's five shots in the first half, three of those were on goal.

The second half proved to be more on South Alabama's side as the Jaguars outshot the Bobcats 10-2. Only one of those second half shots were on goal for the Jaguars.

Rinehart finished the game with three saves while junior forward
Lynsey Curry led the team with six shots. The Bobcats finished the game with 10 shots, of which four were on goal.
