San Marcos, Texas - Texas State softball will host No. 17 Baylor on Tuesday night in its Annual Strikeout Cancer game. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. Any fan wearing a pink t-shirt or an All-Fight shirt can purchase a $2 ticket into the game. A limited amount of Strikeout Cancer t-shirts will available for purchase at the game.
There will also be a pledge per total runs scored. Fans can give flat donations or make a pledge to help raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation in Austin. Pledges will be accepted up through the second inning and it will be based on the total runs scored between both teams. Look for the “Pledge” table set-up at the game.
In addition to t-shirt sales, fans can purchase bingo cards 2-for-$1. As a special treat, the first 200 fans will receive free pink (strawberry) ice cream from the concession stand, and a free gift which can be picked up at the pledge table.
Texas State So Far..
Texas State (9-28) is in fifth place in the WAC after capturing its second conference series. The Bobcats are led in the circle by freshman Ashley Wright and junior Rayn House. Wright has five wins, while House has a team-high 66 strikeouts in 102.0 innings pitched. Senior Haley Lemons leads Texas State at the plate with a batting average of .301 with 34 hits and 16 runs scored. Lemons has been walked a team-high 17 times this season; that puts her sixth on the career charts with 72. Brooke Baker is the top hitter for the Cats in conference play with a .400 hitting average.
Hitting for the Fence
The Bobcats have 13 total home runs this season, that's four more than Texas State had in all of 2012. Jordan Masek and Katie Doerre lead the pack with a trio of homers each, while Coralee Ramirez and Courtney Harris have both registered two apiece.

Texas State is 33-for-37 in stolen base attempts in 2013. Its opponents are 29-for-43. Senior outfielder Brooke Baker ranks sixth in the career record books with 32 stolen bases. #QuickFeet

Baylor (29-10) is on a three-game losing streak after dropping its conference series to top-ranked Oklahoma. Sarah Smith leads the Bears at the plate with a .414 batting average, in addition to 41 hits and 15 runs scored. Whitney Canion is Baylor's top pitcher with 15 wins and an ERA of 1.83.
