Two Texas State Performances Finish with Top Results Saturday

, Texas – Texas State participated in three events at the Texas Relays Saturday, and two brought about top ranking results.
 
Freshman Dasha Tsema finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 47.75 meters. The throw puts her atop the Western Athletic Conference in just her first season for the Bobcats.
 
Texas State also finished sixth in the premier event at the Texas Relays, the 4x400-meter relay. Freshmen James Hillard, Anthony Johnson, Tyrone Jackson and junior William Murray ran for a sixth place time of 3:10.76. The puts the team 25th nationally, but leading the WAC.
 
For the weekend at the Texas Relays, the women had four performances that set the team's new best marks while the men's 4x400 relay was a new team best.
 
The Texas State track and field team will next be in action in this upcoming weekend, hosting the Texas State Invitational at the Texas State Track and Field Complex Friday and Saturday. For a schedule of events, click here.
