Moscow, Idaho –
The Texas State women's basketball team battled valiantly, but the Idaho Vandals were able to use their size advantage to overpower the Bobcats, en route to a 72-59 victory, Saturday night at the Cowan Spectrum in Moscow, Idaho.

The Vandals used a 15-4 run to end the first half, carrying over into the second, putting the team up 46-34, of which they never looked back. During that stretch center Ali Forde had eight straight points, using her size to help Idaho pull away.

Midway through the second half, Texas State went on a 9-2 run to cut the lead back down to 48-43 before Idaho answered via a post entry to Jessica Graham. Graham's bucket started another 7-0 run, putting the lead back to 55-43.

Idaho's Christina Salvatore led the Vandal offense, with 15 first half points to help the home team take a 36-30 halftime lead. She made five of the Vandals' eight first-half three-pointers.

Texas State answered seemingly the whole first half, not allowing the Vandals to take a lead larger than six, which was taken in the last 54 seconds of the first period. Idaho stretched a 31-30 advantage to 36-30 heading into the break.

In that first half Diamond Ford kept the Bobcats afloat, scoring 11 points in the first 20 minutes. She finished the game with 27 points, her 19th 20-point game of the year in 27 contests.

The Bobcats will begin their final two-game homestand of the year, next Thursday night at 6:30 p.m., when they take on Utah State at Strahan Coliseum.
