San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State women's golf team, fresh off a second place finish at the Hurricane Invitational last week, will play at the UCF Challenge, beginning Sunday at the Red Tail Golf Club in Orlando.
The Bobcats have moved up to No. 30 in the latest Golfweek rankings after beating No. 11 Oklahoma State and No. 26 Campbell last week at the Hurricane Invitational. At that event Krista Puisite had her lowest 54-hole score of the season with a 213, finishing runner-up at the tournament. Sophomore Iman Nordin also had a season and career-best, finishing with 216, to end in a tie for fourth place.
Texas State will begin the tournament paired with Big East school Louisville and Conference USA opponent East Carolina at 8:30 a.m., local time Sunday morning. Also in the field will be Miami, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Florida and North Carolina among others. Live scoring for the event is available at Golfstat.com.
