Women's Basketball Hosts I-35 Rival UTSA Saturday

After a two-game road trip, Texas State women's basketball team hostsI-35 rival UTSA, Saturday at 2:00 p.m., at Strahan Coliseum. The game will be part of a women's basketball alumnae reunion, which will feature the 2002-03 Southland Conference Championship team at halftime, in an on-court ceremony.

 

The Bobcats ended their 2011-12 home schedule against the Roadrunners, with an 87-67 victory that vaulted the team to their first Southland Conference Tournament berth since 2008. Following the game, Kelsey Krupa was proposed to on-court and the ensuing video achieved millions of page views on MSN.com.

 

This season's first matchup comes a week after Texas State earned its first WAC victory, beating UT Arlington 63-57 on the road. In the game Diamond Ford moved into sixth place on the all-time Bobcat scoring leaderboard with 1,599 points.

 

Texas State has held each of its last four opponents to 71 points or fewer in regulation. In the last game, the team held the Mavericks to 32.4 percent shooting, the lowest by a Division I opponent this year.

 

For fans who can't make it to Strahan Coliseum, the game will be aired on 89.9 FM KTSW.
