San Marcos, Texas –
The Texas State soccer team scored two goals in the final nine minutes, to come from behind against Idaho, 2-1 Friday night at the Bobcat Soccer Complex in rainy conditions. The win puts the Bobcats at 1-0-0 in the WAC.

With just over six minutes to go, Lynsey Curry intercepted a punt from Idaho goalkeeper Liz Boyden. She then went at her 1-on-1, and put it on the ground past Boyden for the 2-1 lead.

Tori Hale scored the equalizer for Texas State with nine minutes to go in the second half. She got behind one Vandal defender and had just one to beat. Hale ripped a shot from 20 yards out that went just inside the left post to tie the game at 1-1.

The Vandals were the aggressors early, outshooting Texas State 15-3 in the first half. The Bobcats started to settle in after the Vandal goal, allowing just two shots in the final 15 minutes of the first period.

Idaho scored the first goal of the game after having numerous attempts earlier in the game. Preseason WAC Offensive Player of the Year, Chelsea Small had a shot from about the same spot as Hale did later in the game. However Small's shot went into the upper right corner past Natalie Gardini.

Texas State had a good opportunity to open the second half. Curry got behind the Idaho defender and Emma Staley got her the ball. Unfortunately the shot was just wide. 30 seconds later, Sydney Curry crossed it into Taylor Person but the Idaho goalkeeper used her body to stop the shot.

Texas State will look to go 2-0-0 in WAC play on Sunday afternoon when the Bobcats host Seattle University at 1:00 p.m.
