San Marcos, Texas
– The Texas State soccer team dominated the stat sheet, but could not find the back of the net, as the team lost 1-0 to McNeese, Sunday afternoon on a very wet field at the Bobcat Soccer Complex. Overall, Texas State held a 13-5 shot advantage including 8-0 in the second half.

With 27 minutes remaining in the second half, Lynsey Curry broke away from the Cowgirl defense and has headed towards the goal. However, the wet field impeded her progress and allowed the McNeese defense to catch up and block her eventual shot.

12 minutes later, Curry again had a wide open opportunity at the goal, after the Bobcat attack drew the goalkeeper out of the net. McNeese's defense again recovered and a defender was on the goalline as Curry's shot approached the net, turning it away. Curry finished the game with six shots, including three on goal.

The lone score of the game came in the first half as the McNeese attack drew Natalie Gardini towards the near post. Sarah LaLanne slid the pass over to Johna Germany who found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.

Texas State will continue its five-game homestand on Friday night against Texas Southern at 7 p.m. It will be the last nonconference game of the season.
