San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State women's basketball team had a player earn Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league office announced Monday as Ashley Ezeh earned the honor. Ezeh led the Bobcats with 15 points and a career-high 18 rebounds in the team's 69-51 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Saturday.
The Houston, Texas native (Bush HS) posted her third double-double in a row. The double-double was her fifth of the season and it was also was her fifth-straight game scoring at least 15 points. Thanks to Ezeh's rebounding, the Bobcats allowed just two second chance points on the night and owned a 46-33 rebounding advantage. She shot 45.5 percent from the field (5-11) and was a perfect 5-5 from the charity stripe, helping Texas State improve to 5-3 on the season.
Texas State will return home on Tuesday for its last home game of the 2012 calendar year when it takes on Kennesaw State on Dec. 18 at 6:30 p.m., at Strahan Coliseum.
