San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team will complete its three-game home stand on Saturday, Nov. 17 when SMU comes to town. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Series
SMU owns a 6-1 lead in the all-time series, which began on Dec. 30, 2005. Prior to Saturday's game, the two teams have played each other four times in Dallas and three times in San Marcos.
Scouting Texas State
Texas State is 2-0 heading into the weekend. Matt Staff is the Bobcats leading scorer and rebounder with an average of 22.5 ppg and 10.0 rpg. Staff and Joel Wright each have a double-double on record and have shined in the Bobcats two wins. Texas State enters the weekend having scored 86 points in each of their first two games.
Scouting SMU
SMU will play at TCU on Thursday night, before traveling to San Marcos. The top returnees for SMU are London Giles and Jalen Jones. Giles finished 2012-13 with an average of 10.0 ppg and 2.5 rpg. Jones finished with 8.0 ppg and 3.3 rpg.
Flashback
December 31, 2010 - Five Bobcats scored in double figures in the contest...Cameron Johnson (11), John Rybak (23), Dylan Hale (14), Ryan White (10), Tony Bishop (10). Texas State shot .492 percent from the floor, and led by as many as 19 points in the contest. The Bobcats held the Mustangs to four made three-pointers, and forced 15 turnovers. SMU was led by Derek Williams, who had 29 points. Papa Dia had a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.
