San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State women's golf team looks to build off a strong start to the year when it returns to action on Monday at the OU Invitational in Norman, Okla. The Bobcats have started to garner national attention in recent weeks as they have received votes in various top-25 polls around the country.
Last year at this event, Lejan Lewthwaite tied for 15th, as the Bobcats finished in a tie for ninth. Lewthwaite is one of five players scheduled to compete for the Bobcats this week along with Krista Puisite, Iman Nordin, Valdis Jonsdottir and Lora Assad.
Competing in the tournament this year is Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Kansas, TCU, Kansas State, Notre Dame, South Florida and Ohio State among others. One of the reasons for the strong field is that the course used for this tournament will be the same one utilized in the NCAA Regionals in May.
