San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State (7-7) men's basketball team will travel to Natchitoches, La. to face Northwestern State (7-7) Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats look to bounce back after its loss to Stephen F. Austin on Wednesday. Tip-off versus the Demons is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Series
Northwestern State leads the all-time series, 25-23. The Bobcats have won three straight against the Demons. Texas State routed Northwestern State, 84-71, at home on Jan. 8, 2011 in the last meeting between the two teams.
Scouting Texas State
Texas State is looking to get back to its winning ways. The Bobcats are in search of their first road win, after dropping all five so far this season.
Texas State leads the SLC in scoring (81.5 ppg), and is second in field goal percentage (.446), and third in three-point percentage (.364).
After one game down in SLC play, the Bobcats rank fourth in the West Division with 7-7 overall record and 0-1 league record.
The Bobcats are led in scoring and rebounding by junior forward Matt Staff at 11.8 ppg and 6.8 rpg. Seniors Brooks Ybarra and Eddie Rios are two and three with 11.5 ppg and 11.0 ppg, respectively.
Scouting Northwestern State
Northwestern State enters Saturday's contest with a 7-7 record. NSU is 5-0 in home games this season. The Demons will make their league debut this Saturday.
The Demons have won three of their last five games, but have dropped consecutive games to Mississippi State and Oklahoma. NSU leads the conference in blocked shots (6.5) and steals (9.8). The team's 6.5 blocks is ranked ninth nationally.
Davis is the team's leading scorer, averaging 13.3 points per contest, which ranks ninth in the Southland. Mosley is the team's leading rebounder, pulling down 9.4 per game for the best-mark in the Southland. He also leads the league in field-goal percentage (54.0), blocks (3.7) and defensive rebounds (6.2). His 3.7 blocks per game rank fifth in Division I.

Texas State is idle midweek, but it returns to the court on Saturday, Jan. 14 at home to host McNeese State at 4 p.m. The Bobcats will then travel to Sam Houston State on Jan. 18 for a contest against the Bearkats.
