Women's Basketball Renews I-35 Rivalry With UTSA

Notes

San Marcos, Texas –
The Texas State women's basketball team looks to win its third Southland Conference game of the season, when it travels to San Antonio, to renew the I-35 Rivalry with UTSA, Saturday at 2 p.m., at the UTSA Convocation Center.

In its last game Texas State used one of its best defensive efforts of the season, to limit Sam Houston State to just 25.0% shooting and just 53 points in the game. The Bearkats did not score until the 10:32 mark in the second half and did not register a made field goal until the 9:56 mark.

With a win on Saturday, the Bobcats would also notch their first win over the Roadrunners since Feb. 23, 2008. Prior to Wednesday night's game, Texas State had not beaten Sam Houston in its last six meetings, a streak the team ended with its 66-53 win.

Following Saturday's game, the Bobcats will return home to face Texas A&M Corpus Christi at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
