Soccer Begins Conference Play Friday

San Marcos, Texas -
The Texas State soccer team begins conference play Friday as it continues its stretch of six straight home games. The Bobcats will play their first three Southland Conference games at home, before taking to the road for four of their last six beginning Oct. 14.

 

Texas State won a pair of games last weekend over Houston Baptist and Grambling, to move the team to 5-4 on the season, and winners of four of its last five contests. Felicia Leask led the week over the two-game span with three goals.

 

Sam Houston State enters Friday's play at 4-6-1. Last weekend the Bearkats played a pair of Texas State's preseason opponents, tying La. Tech 0-0, before edging Prairie View A&M 1-0. Tricia Mallory leads the team with 13 points (6 G, 1 A).

 

Stephen F. Austin has played well through the nonconference schedule, going 5-2-1. In their last game, the Lady Jacks shut out Jackson State 11-0, the third straight game they have scored at least three goals.
