Oct. 24, 2011 - "Fall Ball"
Hello, Hello!
It has been a while since our last entry; I know you have missed us. It's been a crazy couple of weeks for us and for Texas State Softball. We've been working really hard and came out of the fall with a record of 6-2. It could have been better. We had a couple of hick-ups, but we definitely finished strong. We're going to continue to work really hard now that games are over. This is definitely the hardest part of the fall…morning workouts and getting after it at the field gets tiring, but we are going to continue to stay focused and keep our minds on the goals we've set.
As for life, we are doing great! Chandler has joined our generation and got a Twitter account. The entire team went to Anna's house last week in Buda and her mom made us a wonderful dinner. Haley made a new video that we are posting below! A lot has gone on in these past couple of months and we hope this video catches you up. Enjoy!
Love,
Hay, Chan and Anna

Sept. 20, 2011 - "Chandler's Gotta Eat!"
Okay so tonight I decided to be a good friend. FCA is every Monday at 8:30 p.m., however Chandler Hall (Josey Grossy) doesn't get out of class until 8:30 so I told her I would pick her up and we could be late together. At 7:30 I met Courtney Harris, Allison Snow, Megan Parten and Anna Hernandez at Harris Dining Hall for dinner. Chan had been in class all day so she wanted me to grab her a healthy dinner to go and by that I mean pizza. Well us girls got to talking to the point where the dining hall was closing and they were putting all the food up. Running towards the women at the pizza line, I asked if I can have some pizzas and she proceeds to give me 8 pieces! Chan can eat a lot so I thought this would be perfect.
This is where the story gets interesting. I convinced Anna to go with me to pick up Chandler, her class was nearby so we decided to just go to the building where she got out and then walk together to my car. The walk would have been probably 2 minutes long but when we walked out of the dining hall we saw a bobcat bobby, this is a golf cart service that gives young ladies rides around campus for safety at night. Yes, I know it was a bit lazy to ask for the ride seeing as our destination was so close but with the pizzas in my hands I justified it in my head. Anna and I hopped on the back of the golf cart anticipating the joy ride ahead. We were wrong. As soon as my butt hit the seat the young man floors it! Please keep in mind that my hands are completely full. In this instance of sudden terror Anna's first instinct, thank God was to wrap her arms around me and hold me on the cart. My butt is half way off the seat at this point and im sliding more as he is speeding towards the building. Anna and I are in a frenzy of laughter and fear and just when I thought I regained my composure with my best friend pulling me up, our cart makes a sharp turn to avoid the stairs and I am now sitting half way on the seat half way on top of Anna! We are heading upwards on the ramp so once again Anna is holding onto me, literally for my life. I mean of course I couldn't sacrifice THE Chandler Hall's pizza by dropping it and holding on for my life! Anna and I are crying we are laughing so hard right around the time that the young man passes our destination. Anna using all her strength to hold me plus laughing was in no state to speak so with any voice I had through the laughter I yell, "Sir you passed it!" He proceeds to yell back "No problem I'll just whip er' around." In unison we scream "NO!!" And bam he U-turns without even a glance at the brakes. Thank God for the heavy bench press we have been doing because Anna seriously is the only reason the pizzas and I do not have road burn right now. We arrive at our destination by coming to a screeching halt. We stumble into the building feeling as if we had just shot a scene from Fast 5. My abs were hurting from Anna squeezing my stomach so hard and the constant laughter. It is funny what you will go through for your friends to get a piece of pizza. Dedication to my teammates is what I'm all about :) You're welcome Chan and Anna. What are friends for right?!
P.S. Anna was so whipped out she felt the need to plank with the pizzas and i was pumping with adrenaline so we took a pic to commemorate what took place haha!
Sept. 17, 2011
We are really starting to get into the groove of things, we just ended with our last week of individuals and this upcoming week we start team practice! This past week we had a great first meeting at FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) on Monday night. Since it was the first meeting everyone had to stand up and say a little something about themselves. Some people stood up and said they had a twin brother or sister, some stood and said they were from out of state, and one of our freshmen, Courtney Harris, decided to stand up and say she finished off 16 plates of food by herself at Harris Dining Hall earlier that evening. Clearly something to be impressed about. We had a great time worshiping and relaxing with fellow student-athletes.
This week we had been thinking about doing something to help with the Bastrop fire relief and an opportunity arose through the Austin Disaster Relief Network (http://www.adrntx.org/). On Friday morning the team went to one of the donation warehouses in South Austin and we unloaded and organized donations that came into the warehouse. It was a humbling experience to be there and we were privileged to be able to help out with whatever they needed. Our prayers will continue to be with all of the families affected. Helping was definitely a team effort and it brought us even closer together. Bonding with these girls is for sure an easy task. By choice we do a lot of things together and lately we have been making it a priority to go out and support fall sports. We worked the volleyball game, went to women's soccer and in fact started a new cheering tradition when the goalie, Lauren Frazier, kicks the ball. Today is the first home football game and we intend to go cheer on our determined football team as they seek out there first win of the season. See Ya'll there!!

Hey Bobcat Fans,
It's that time of year again...early mornings, the start of classes, new teammates, and sore muscles; however our living situation is new! We (Chandler, Anna, and Haley) are living under the same roof, let's just say it's been an interesting first couple of weeks with Haley's incessant watching of Keeping up with the Kardashians, Chandler's weird eating habits, and Anna's obsession with locking every single door...at all times. We are very excited about the upcoming season. The team did really well during testing week with every girl passing their level on the beep test and meeting expectations in the weight room. The new freshmen are meshing really well and we are definitely glad to have them here. This was short and sweet, but stay tuned because we are very excited to keep you updated on what's happening behind the scenes with Texas State Softball this year! Go Bobcats!
