Breda, The Netherlands – Women's golfer Krista Puisite finished runner up by three strokes at the Riverwoods Junior Open held at Golfclub Toxandra in the Netherlands last weekend. Puisite fell to Lauren Taylor, the 2011 Ladies British Amateur champion.
For the tournament, Krista shot a four-over 292. She fired an even-par 72 in both the third and fourth rounds. The top-three finish was the third this summer for Krista. She has won two events, the Latvian National Amateur and was runner up at the Estonian Open.
Also playing in the tournament was Krista's sister Mara. Mara finished in a tie for fourth place, carding a four round total of 298. It was her third top-five finish this summer. Mara won the Estonian Open before finishing runner-up at the Latvian National Amateur.
With the runner-up finish Krista moved up to 215th in the world according to the R and A World Amateur Golf Rankings. Mara is currently at 646th, up 50 spots from last week.
