– Texas State (10-12, 5-3 SLC) men's basketball travels to Conway, Ark. on Wednesday, February 9 to face Central Arkansas. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. at the Farris Center. The Bobcats are on a two-game win streak and are looking for their first conference road win. Central Arkansas (5-17, 1-8 LSC) is on a three-game skid after its most recent loss to UT Arlington on Monday afternoon.

Series: Texas State leads the all-time series 3-1. The Bobcats won the last meeting 76-74 on Jan. 16, 2010 in San Marcos.

 

Scouting Texas State

Texas State (10-12, 5-3 SLC) continues to win at home in 2011, with its most recent victories coming over Stephen F. Austin and Nicholls. The Bobcats beat the Colonels 75-60, snapping a two-game losing streak to Nicholls. Texas State is led by team captains Cameron Johnson (13.4 ppg, 5.4 rpg) and Tony Bishop (11.0 ppg, 7.7 rpg); Texas State's top scorers and rebounders.  The Bobcats are shooting 44.5 percent from the field and averaging 78.8 points per game. Texas State averages 75.1 points per game on the road.

 

Scouting Central Arkansas

Central Arkansas (5-17, 1-8 SLC) is on a three-game losing streak after dropping a 93-70 decision to UT Arlington on the road Monday afternoon. The Bears only conference win this season comes at home when it beat visiting Southeastern Louisiana 62-59. The Bears are led by Imad Qahwash who is averaging 13.2 points per game and 2.9 rebounds per game. Central Arkansas is averaging 70.7 points per game and 33.1 rebounds per game.

 

Flashback

January 16, 2010 - In a game that featured 18 lead changes and 14 ties, Cameron Johnson scored a career-high 34 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked a last-second three-point attempt to lead the Texas State men's basketball team to a 76-74 victory over Central Arkansas in Strahan Coliseum.

Johnson was one of three Bobcats to score in double figures as John Bowman netted 15 points and Ryan White tallied 11 points and a game-high five assists as Texas State improved to 8-9 overall and 2-1 in Southland Conference play.
