Texas State Football Team Travels To Sam Houston State

Bobcats and Bearkats Kickoff at 2:00 p.m. in Bowers Stadium in Huntsville

The Texas State football team will end its 2010 season on November 20 when the Bobcats travel to  Huntsville, Texas and play Sam Houston State in a Southland Conference game at Elliott T. Bowers Stadium. The game is scheduled to kick off at 2:00 p.m.

Looking At Texas State
 Texas State looks to improve its record to 5-6 overall and improve to 2-5 against Southland Conference opponents after suffering a 36-6 loss at McNeese State last Saturday and a 49-17 loss against Central Arkansas last Saturday on November 6. The loss at McNeese State gives the Bobcats a 1-3 record in road games. The Bobcats have a 3-3 mark in home games this season. Prior to the McNeese State game, Texas State had upset third-ranked Stephen F.  Austin 27-24 in its previous road game on October 30 after opening league play  with a 49-24 setback at Southeastern Louisiana on October 9. The Bobcats opened the season with a 68-28 loss at Houston on September 4.

Looking At Sam Houston State
Sam Houston State enters Saturday game with a 5-5 overall record and a 3-3 league record after defeating Central Arkansas 20-13 in Conway, Ark., on November 13. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Bearkats. Sam Houston State has a 2-1 record in home games this season with wins over Gardner Webb (30-14 on Sept. 25) and Southeastern Louisiana (57-7 on October 16). The lone loss came against McNeese State (33-28 on Nov. 6).  

Series Record

Texas State enters Saturday's game with an 48-34-4 series record against Sam Houston State and has won the last two meetings between the two schools. The Bobcats defeated Sam Houston State 28-20 in San Marcos last year after winning 48-45 in overtime at Huntsville in 2008.
