Antonio Gentile begins his first season as a volunteer assistant coach at Texas State, coming here from his hometown of Orland Park, Ill.

A graduate of Bradley with a bachelor’s of science in graphic design and photography, Gentile has extensive experience coaching club volleyball in the state of Illinois.

While at Bradley, Gentile also served as the varsity team’s volleyball manager until his graduation in 2008. At that point, he joined the staff at Millikin University as an assistant coach for women’s volleyball. After two seasons, Gentile made the move to club volleyball as well as high school.

Gentile started as the head coach of the 17’s Kane County Juniors in Geneva, Ill., while also serving as the assistant coach for the Lincoln-Way North High School girls volleyball team. In addition, he  simultaneously worked as the assistant boy’s coach at Carl Sandburg High School where he helped lead the team to the 2011 State Championship. After that, Gentile went on to assist at his alma mater, Marist High School before again becoming a head coach.

In 2010, Gentile took over the 16’s boy’s volleyball program at Ultimate Volleyball Club in Frankfort, Ill., where his team was ranked fourth nationally and finished sixth at the USA Junior National Championships.

As a player, Gentile spent four seasons as the setter on the Bradley men’s club volleyball team.
