2012 Outdoor:  Recorded a season-best of 3.65 meters (11-11.75) in the pole vault to finish in second place at the Dr. Pepper Classic … tied for fourth place at the Texas Invitational recording 3.62 meters (11-10.50) … took the 10th spot at the SLC Championships recording 3.55 meters (11-07.75) in the pole vault … competed in the 200-meter dash at the Texas Invitational recording a 26.98 … recorded a time of 27.09 at the TCU invitational 200-meter dash.


2012 Indoor: Recorded a season-best of 3.60 meters (11-09.75) in the pole vault at the Houston Indoor … took ninth at the Southland Conference Indoors with 3.40 meters (11-01.75). 

Highland HS: Competed for coach Sean Armstrong at Highland High School in Albuquerque … named New Mexico Athlete of the Year in 2010 … a three-time state champion pole vaulter from 2009-11 … won state titles in the long jump in 2011 and the 300-meter hurdles in 2010… was the Great Southwest Classic champion in 2011 and the decathlon champion in 2010 and ’11 … personal best in the pole vault is 3.66 meters (12-0).

Personal: Born August 5, 1993 in Denton, Texas, to Marina Peters-Newell and Tim Newell … has one younger brother, Alex … major is physical therapy.
