Aimee Vaughn

Aimee Vaughn enters her third season with the Texas State softball team. Vaughn's responsibilities are coaching the infield, player development, recruiting, organizing Upper Deck, the softball team's booster club, alumni relations, scouting reports, team travel and game contracts. Four of Vaughn's infielders received SLC All-conference honors in 2008, with three of them posting batting averages over .300. Vaughn came to Texas State after switching Southland Conference allegiances prior to the 2007 season. She spent 2002-2005 as an assistant at conference foe Stephen F. Austin, where she was the hitting and infield coach under former-Ladyjacks Head Coach Jennifer Poulsen. Prior to coaching, Vaughn started at third base for UAB's softball team. A captain of the team, Vaughn and the Blazers finished as Runners-Up at the 2002 Conference USA Tournament. Additionally, Vaughn was named to both the Dean's List and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll while a student at UAB. Vaughn graduated from Alabama-Birmingham in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in communication. She received her master's in physical education with a specialization in sports management from Texas State in May 2008.
