Previous School: Competed at McLennan Community College for head coach Pete Mejia as a member of the starting rotation for two seasons … helped MCC to a regional berth as a sophomore.

High School: Earned four letters at Waco Reicher Catholic High School under head coach David Wrzesinski … helped lead the team to a state championship in 2006 … named all-district, all-state, 4A tournament MVP and Waco Tribune Herald Super Centex as a senior ... played his summer baseball with the Waco Storm coached by Todd Haney … also earned three letters in football and one in basketball … member of the football 4A state championship winning team in 2004.
