Luis De La Cruz enters his first season as a manager for Texas State Baseball. He begins at Texas State after playing baseball with fellow Bobcat Felipe Rodriguez at John B. Alexander High School in Laredo, Texas.
De La Cruz was a catcher along with Rodriguez and played on a team that went to state under the guidance of Head Coach Mario Garcia. De La Cruz considers the experience “amazing” and is happy to go from a state championship game at Alexander High School to being part of a “great team for Texas State”.
The native of Laredo, Texas, assists Grant in day-to-day activities which includes laundry services, equipment maintenance and transportation.
De La Cruz, currently pursuing his degree in political science, also serves as a bullpen catcher for the Bobcats. He catches in the bullpen to warm up pitchers in game as well as throughout the week at practice.
