The 2018 season is the fourth for Hunter Lemke as a volunteer assistant for the Bobcats after serving as a student assistant for two years.
Before that, Lemke was a record-breaking closer for Texas State and brings a wealth of playing experience to the Texas State baseball coaching staff, playing all four seasons as a Bobcat.
The Cypress, Texas, native took over the volunteer position in the summer of 2016, heading up the Ty Harrington Baseball Camps along with other duties as assigned. He also serves as first base coach during the season.
As a righty sidearm thrower, Lemke had a prolific career for the Bobcats.
He graduated from Texas State with three school records, including most career appearances (95), most career saves (19) and single-season saves (11 in 2014).
He also left TXST second all-time in career earned-run average (2.37) and single-season appearances (35 in 2013).
Lemke earned his bachelor’s degree in geology at Texas State in 2016.
