Daniel Fernandez

Fernandez enters his first season as the Volunteer Assistant Coach for Texas State University after serving as an Assistant Coach at Galveston College. Fernandez will work primarily with catchers and assist with both infielders and hitters. While at Galveston College Fernandez worked primarily with the infielders and also assisted with offense and recruiting.

Most recently, Fernandez served as a Student Manager for the Bobcats from 2010-2013, where he was responsible for apparel, equipment, as well as game-day operations on the field.  

Prior to arriving at Texas State, Fernandez served as an Assistant Coach for one season at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, California. At Delta, Fernandez’s duties included coaching first base as well as working with the infielders. He also assisted with hitting, base running and recruiting. In his lone season as an assistant coach at Delta College, the defense led the Big 8 Conference in double plays, which ranked second overall in the California Community College Athletic Association.

As a player, Fernandez played CCCAA baseball at San Joaquin Delta College under head coach Reed Peters where he was a member of the State Runner-Up team in 2009.

Fernandez earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Sports Science from Texas State University in 2013.
