Blake Whitter begins his first season as Director of Operations for Bobcat Baseball after completing a collegiate baseball career at both Texas State and Blinn. As Director of Operations, Whitter is responsible for coordinating travel, equipment purchase, scouting reports and meals.

Graduating from Texas State in December 2015, Whitter earned his degree in applied sociology with a minor in health and wellness promotion and is currently pursuing his alternative teaching certification.

Before taking over as Director of Operations, the former pitcher served as a student coach in the fall of 2015, helping to take Texas State pitchers through the team’s daily routines.

As a player in 2015, Whitter’s final season at Texas State, he led the Bobcats in both saves (5) and appearances (27), throwing 42.6 innings. The native of Kingwood, Texas, struck out 32 batters and tallied three strikeouts or more in three games. Whitter also played in the California Collegiate League for the San Luis Obispo Blues where he was a 2014 All-League Performer and led the league in appearances.

Before his collegiate career, Whitter was a three-year letterman at Kingwood High School where he was named District MVP, All-State and First-Team All-Houston.
