Posted a 1.000 fielding percentage with 17 putouts and three assists... Scored twice against Incarnate Word (3/5)... Went 2-for-2 against Little Rock (4/16).

High School: Graduated from Pearland High School... Coached by Anthony Scalise... Named to the Texas 5A All-State Tournament Team... Made the 2014 Houston Area Baseball Coaches Association Junior All-Stars... All-Houston honorable mention... Was a Houston Chronicle High School Athlete of the Week... Hit .333 overall and .360 in the posteason as a junior.
 
Personal: Majoring in occupational, workforce and leadership studies... Son of Cecil Jr. and Carol Almendarez... Has a sister, Jenna... Choose Texas State because of the great coaching staff and how much he loved the campus... Recruited by Tulane, Rice, Houston and Sam Houston State... Hobbies include playing ping pong.
