Biography

2012: Played in 49 games, started 48 … finished the season with three home runs and drove in 19 … had five games of three hits and 10 multi-hit games overall … ended the year with a .253 batting average … owned a season-long hitting streak of 14 games (3/16-4/6) … went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI against Notre Dame (3/4) … hit his first home run of the season against Oregon (3/27) … behind the plate, threw out nine runners trying to steal … went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI against McNeese State (3/30) … during the series against McNeese he was 6-for-13 (.462) with a double, six RBI and two runs scored … his best game of the year came against Lamar when he has 3-for-4 with a double and a home run.
 
2011: Earned All-Southland Conference Second Team honors and was named to the Johnny Bench Award watch list ... made 60 starts as the team’s primary catcher while also occasionally serving as a designated hitter … finished the season with a .307 batting average, five home runs, 43 RBIs and 35 runs scored … hit .377 over the team’s final 17 games, including going 4-for-11 during the team’s three NCAA Regional games … hit a three-run homer in the first inning of the SLC Championship game ... finished 4-for-4 against Nicholls (5/15) for his third four-hit game of the season ... went 4-for-4 with an RBI against Houston (3/11) ... hit a walk-off home run to beat Houston (3/12) in a 2-for-2 performance with three RBIs and two runs scored ... had his second four-hit game of the season against Stephen F. Austin (4/2), going 4-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs … finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs and one run scored against Lamar (3/25).
 
2010: Played in 54 games for the Bobcats, starting 46 of those contests primarily at catcher … finished the season with a .277 batting average (51-for-184), five home runs, five doubles, two triples, 36 RBIs and 24 runs scored … had 266 putouts and 15 assists defensively with just five errors … hit .307 against right-handed pitchers … hit a grand slam and finished the game with five RBIs against Penn State (3/12) … had three straight multiple-hit games in early April, culminating in a 2-for-4 game with three RBIs and a double against Central Arkansas (4/9) … went 4-for-5 with a home run, triple, two runs scored and an RBI against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3/7).
 
High School: Lettered four years at Katy High School under head coach Tom McPherson ... named All-Greater Houston Co-Newcomer of the Year in 2006 ... set KHS record with 51 RBIs the same season ... earned back-to-back all-district first team honors the following years ... three-time all-state honoree and all-American honorable mention in 2008 and 2009 ... named 2009 district MVP.
