SAN MARCOS – Four Bobcats received national recognition from a pair of organizations for their efforts in Texas State's 49-35 victory over North Texas on Saturday.

Davian Jackson led the way with honorable mention accolades from both the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award and the Paul Hornung Award. The ECTR Award honors top offensive players with a tie to the state of Texas, while the Paul Hornung Award recognizes the most versatile players in college football.

Jackson had a four-touchdown day, including rushing for three off 77 yards and 10 carries and making his lone reception count with a 13-yard TD.

Torrance Burgess Jr. led the country with 214 rushing yards off 25 carries, including a long of 76 to earn a spot on the ECTR list.

Brad Jackson and Chris Dawn, Jr., also joined Jackson and Burgess on the Earl Campbell list. Jackson had an efficient passing day going 16-22 for 268 yards and four TDs, while adding 30 yards on the ground. Two of Jackson's passes when to Dawn, who had four catches for 107 yards.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday when they host UIW for a 5:00 p.m. kick time. The game will be broadcast on USA.
