SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State Volleyball heads to Houston for the last non-conference trip of the season as the Bobcats (4-4 overall) play in the Flo Hyman Classic hosted by the University of Houston.
The Bobcats will take on Houston Christian, the University of Houston, and I-35 rival, UTSA.

ABOUT THE BOBCATS
- The Bobcats are coming off a 2-1 weekend with a sweep of SFA, a reverse sweep of UT Arlington, and a 3-1 loss to North Texas.
- Over the weekend, the Bobcats hit a season-best .381 as a team with Brooke Bentke leading with a .380 [35-8-71] hitting percentage.
- Texas State's best match was against SFA when the 'Cats posted a .358 hitting percentage led by India Bennett with a staggering .714 hitting percentage, finishing with 11 kills, one error, and 14 attempts.
- In that same match against the Ladyjacks, Bennett also recorded a team-high three blocks.
- Defensively, however, Ashley Euston had the best weekend of her career as the redshirt freshman posted a total of 16 blocks over the weekend, including a career-high 10 against North Texas.
- Also against SFA, both Brooke Bentke and Peyton McKee recorded a weekend-high 14 kills.

Against Houston Christian
- The Bobcats are 6-1 overall against the Huskies and are currently riding a five-match win streak.
- The last meeting between the two programs was on Aug. 30, 2024, also in Houston, where Houston Christian pushed Texas State to five sets, but the Bobcats emerged victorious.
- When playing on neutral territory, the 'Cats lead 3-0.
Against Houston
- Texas State is 13-29 all-time against Houston.
- The last matchup between the two teams was on Sept. 2, 2023, in San Marcos, Texas. The Bobcats swept the Cougars with KJ Johnson leading with 12 kills.
- When playing in Houston, Texas, the Bobcats are 2-12 all-time. The last time Texas State won in Houston was on March 20, 2021, when the Bobcats won in three sets.
Against UTSA
- The Bobcats lead against the Roadrunners all-time, 61-15. Texas State is also on a six-match win streak against UTSA.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- The Huskies are currently 2-7 on the season with wins against Texas Southern and Southern. Most notable, however, is that four of HCU's seven losses were in five set matches.
- On offense, Katy Barger leads the Huskies with 104 kills on a .100 hitting clip. Barger also has 11 total blocks and two service aces so far this season.
- At the net, Allana Archie and Malaya Balina-Ayers lead with 28 and 27 blocks, respectively. Archie has posted a season-high four blocks in three different matches while Baline-Ayers has posted a sweltering six blocks in two matches.
- Anchoring the back row is Bianca Byerly with 164 digs and Enisilina Savelio is leading the Huskies offense to a .136 hitting percentage with 330 assists on the season.
- Three different Huskies are tied for the lead in service aces with nine.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
- The Cougars are currently 5-3 overall with wins over Incarnate Word, Texas Southern, Abilene Christian, Houston Christian, and Lamar.
- Houston is hitting .267 on the season with Sydney Jones leading the Cougars' offense with 108 kills on a .300 hitting percentage. The junior has 108 kills on 34 errors and 247 total attacks.
- Kalei Edson partners with Jones in leading the offense with 275 assists on the season. Edson also leads on the service line with 12 service aces this season.
- At the net, Alexis Roberson and Tara Greenberry trade leading the defense with 24 and 22 blocks respectively. Roberson posted a season-high eight blocks against Abilene Christian on Sept. 3, 2026. Greenberry posted a season-high four blocks in three different matches.
- Mattie Casale leads the Cougars' back row with 107 digs.
SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS
- UTSA is 6-2 on the season, including a win over fellow Pac-12 opponent, Gonzaga, as well as wins against Tarleton, East Texas A&M, and Incarnate Word.
- The Roadrunners are hitting .253 on the season led by Sydney Bryant with 116 kills.
- Bryant's 116 kills come from a .270 hitting percentage, with 116 kills, 38 errors, and 289 total attacks.
- UTSA's offense is anchored by Valeria Ortiz with 171 assists.
- Defensively, Ledisi Kpea leads with 39 kills while Caroline Tredwell is second with 24. Kpea has posted a season-high six blocks in two different matches while Tredwell posted a season-high seven against UIW.
- On the back row, Giada Obregon leads with 84 digs. Obregon is also tied with Isabella Arroyave in service aces with eight.
