SAN MARCOS, Texas – As TXST prepares for its inaugural season in the Pac-12 Conference, the university is entering a new era with a bold vision for the future of the game day experience. Fans will soon begin seeing the first results of a university-wide effort established by President Kelly Damphousse to ensure every game day reflects the excellence, ambition and momentum of TXST.
Recognizing that the move to the Pac-12 presented an opportunity to redefine the fan experience, President Damphousse established the Game Day Experience Task Force in November 2025. He challenged the group to engage Bobcat Nation, evaluate every aspect of game day, and develop a long-term strategy that would shape the future of the fan experience for years to come.
Over the past eight months, the task force has worked alongside Athletics staff and engaged Bobcat Nation to evaluate every aspect of the game day experience. From parking and arrival to tailgating, stadium technology, game presentation, fan amenities, traditions, student engagement and operations, the task force translated extensive fan feedback into a comprehensive roadmap for enhancing the fan experience.
That roadmap now serves as one of the first major implementations of IM
PACTFUL, TXST Athletics' movement that calls on every Bobcat to help shape the university's future in the Pac-12 Conference. While IM
PACTFUL inspires the Bobcat community to invest in the future of TXST Athletics, the recommendations of the Game Day Experience Task Force provide the strategic framework for delivering an atmosphere that reflects the pride, passion and aspirations of Bobcat Nation.
"Joining the Pac-12 gave us an opportunity to step back and rethink the entire fan experience," said Director of Athletics
Don Coryell. "President Damphousse challenged us to think boldly, listen carefully and imagine what game day should look and feel like as TXST enters this new era. The recommendations developed by the task force are the direct result of that vision and the invaluable feedback we received from Bobcat Nation."
Many of the task force's recommendations are already being implemented in preparation for the 2026 football season. Leading up to the home opener on Sept. 12 when the Bobcats host UTSA in the I-35 Showdown, TXST Athletics will share more about the enhancements that will welcome Bobcat Nation to a reimagined game day experience in the Pac-12 era.
The Game Day Experience Task Force established more than a list of recommendations. It created the blueprint for the future of game day at TXST. Guided by President Damphousse's vision, informed by Bobcat Nation and implemented by TXST Athletics, this work represents an ongoing commitment to creating a game day experience worthy of one of the nation's fastest-rising public universities.
