Texas State Sweeps Sam Houston 4-0 for Fourth Straight Win

SAN MARCOS, Texas— Texas State women's tennis completed a 4-0 sweep of Sam Houston on Sunday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex, extending its winning streak to four matches.

The victory moves the Bobcats to 4-2 on the season after opening the spring with losses to No. 6 Oklahoma and Wichita State. Texas State rebounded with two road wins last weekend and finished its first home slate 2-0.

Head coach Kendall Brooks said she has been encouraged by the team's progress over the past two weeks.

"As a team, we continue to get better each match, which is what you want as you go into the season," Brooks said. "We're building momentum, finding our lineup and improving each week. I'm really happy with where we are."

Brooks also praised Sunday's overall effort.

"Today was a complete team performance," she said. "We asked for a couple things after Friday's match, and everybody stepped up. It was really good to see."

Texas State set the tone early by securing the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. The momentum carried into singles play, where the Bobcats won three straight matches to clinch the 4-0 decision.
