SAN MARCOS, Texas – After another weekend sweep at home, the Texas State men's basketball team (13-11, 6-6 Sun Belt) is back on the road for a Wednesday night game at Georgia Southern (14-10, 6-5 Sun Belt). Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.

About Texas State
The Bobcats improved to 12-1 at home this season with wins over Marshall and Old Dominion last week. They look to flip the script on the road in which the team has won just once away from Strahan Arena.
After scoring a career-high 24 points against the Monarchs, DJ Hall saw his scoring average increase to a team leading 14.1 points per game. The freshman is shooting a Sun Belt leading 54.5% from the field and leads the team with 7.4 rebounds per game. He has also handed out 55 assists and recorded 32 steals.
Mark Drone is the only other TXST player with a double-digit scoring average at 13.9 ppg. He has made 22 three-pointers and has knocked down 79.7% of his free throws. The Jackson, Mississippi native comes in with 57 assists and 25 steals.
Knocking down a team-high 23 three-pointers has been Franck Emmou, who is putting up 7.5 ppg. Kaden Gumbs enters Wednesday averaging 8.5 ppg and 3.4 assists per contest while leading the conference with 49 steals.
About Georgia Southern
The Eagles are coming off a 69-60 loss at Louisiana on Saturday. It was their fourth loss in the last five games with the lone win being a 79-76 contest on Friday at ULM. At home, Georgia Southern is 8-3 with a 3-3 mark against Sun Belt opponents.
Spudd Webb leads a trio of double-digit scoring Eagles at 16.2 ppg. He paces the team with a 53.8% shooting mark, 67 assists and 42 steals, as well. Tyren Moore contributes 14.3 ppg with a team-high 62 made treys. Alden Applewhite is putting up 12.6 ppg and is grabbing a team-high 5.9 rpg.
Series History
Georgia Southern leads the all-time series 9-6. Texas State has won three of the last four meetings with all of the wins coming in San Marcos. Last time the teams played in Statesboro saw the Eagles come away with an 84-76 victory on Feb. 22, 2024.
When playing Georgia Southern on the road, the Bobcats are 1-7 all-time. The lone win was a 62-61 contest on Jan. 25, 2018. Tre'Larenz Nottingham made the game-winning free throw with three seconds remaining while Tookie Brown's last second three-pointer hit off the rim and bounced away at the buzzer.
